Larry studied business and international business at Canada College, Stanford, University of Heidelberg in Germany, and the Monterey Institute of International Studies. While going to school, he entered the Insurance business in 1968. He took a position in Europe in 1971 and eventually became the managing General agent for Western Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Upon his return to the United States he became regional director of sales for the Midwestern Division. He was involved in direct sales and sales management, as well as training for these companies.
Larry has always been a serial entrepreneur, investing and guiding several companies from book stores and a publishing company, an auto dealership, real estate finance and development, construction and microwave and dry utilities, and telecommunication.

In 2009 he decided to reenter the insurance business, seeing a clear need for those who understood insurance and especially Medicare. The growing population of retirees and the need to understand Medicare presented a growing need. He took several courses and worked for companies specializing in Medicare and products for those retiring. Within two years he decided the best way to help was to be a broker and not be tied to any one company but find the ones who offered the best coverage for the most reasonable price with great service. His commitment to serving and helping customers has been invaluable to many of his clients.
In 2013, after a personal battle with colon cancer, I experienced firsthand the critical importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare. Because I had comprehensive medical coverage, I was able to focus on healing rather than financial survival. That experience made clear how devastating illness can be when paired with financial uncertainty—and it sparked my commitment to being part of the solution.
Following my recovery, I earned my California health insurance license and became one of the first 5,000 agents to enroll members under the Affordable Care Act. Since then, my work has expanded to include Medicare plan enrollment and patient advocacy, helping individuals and families navigate an often complex healthcare system to access timely, effective care.
With decades of hands-on experience as a caregiver, I bring a deep understanding of the emotional, logistical, and ethical challenges faced by patients and their loved ones. I have a particular passion for memory care and hospice work, and I have consulted on the importance of caregiver self-care and mental health de-stigmatization. Throughout my work, I serve as a strong advocate for patients navigating both the insurance and healthcare landscapes.
I am also deeply engaged in the future of medicine and proactive approaches to care. I previously spent five years as a member of the Medical Tourism Association, where I followed global advances in medical technology and innovative care models. I continue to actively engage with emerging developments in Precision (Personalized) Medicine and am attending the
Precision Medicine World Conference
to stay informed on how genetic testing and data-driven insights can reduce trial-and-error treatment and support more accurate, individualized care.
